“American Idol” still has not renewed Paula Abdul’s contract.

Paula Abdul has confirmed that her contract with “American Idol,” which expired after the eighth season, has still not been renewed.

However, she did say that “American Idol” has invited her back for a ninth season and more, subject to the negotiation of a new contract.

Paula says she hopes a deal can be arranged so she can return to the hit show.
